DSi launch puts £14m in retail tills

Opening weekend sales of Nintendo’s DSi generated 14 million for UK retailers, MCV estimates

92,000 DSi units were sold in the device’s first three days on sale, making the system the fourth-fastest selling console in UK history.

Senior product manager for DS James Honeywell told MCV:

DSi’s launch is just the beginning and we will continue to work hard throughout the year to try and maintain this positive start. We were also pleased to see DS Lite maintained strong sales during DSi launch and that people see that both consoles have something to offer them.”
