E3 08: Were stealing PlayStations franchises, says Microsoft

The head of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, Don Mattrick, told a packed LA Convention Centre this morning that traditional PlayStation franchises have found a new home” on Xbox 360.

Following the confirmation by Square Enix that Final Fantasy XIII would be coming to the Microsoft console, a jubilant Mattrick closed the company’s presentation by stating series that have previously been seen as PlayStation-affiliated titles are now being thought of as 360 titles by the gaming populous.

He said:

"Wow. That [FF XIII] looked incredible. It’s another astonishing addition to our array of RPG titles.

It shows that a long list of former PlayStation franchises are now finding a new home on 360. It’s happened with Guitar Hero, it’s happened with Madden and now it’s happening with Resident Evil and Final Fantasy.”

He added: Xbox 360 is now feeding the experience of fierce gaming loyalists whilst walking everyone into interactive entertainment. What do today’s announcements mean for you? With Xbox 360, there is no better way to deliver fun and entertainment to you living room.”
