E3 2011 Awards launched by CVG

CVG has launched its first ever E3 Awards, by inviting consumers to vote for their Most Anticipated title of the show.

A reader poll – which allows for multiple entries – will run prominently on the site every day in the lead-up to E3, and has already attracted over 19,000 public votes.

In addition, CVG will be running separate, E3 Award-branded previews of the site’s 60 Most Anticipated titles. Readers will be encouraged to ReTweet links to their favourites, and ‘Like’ them on Facebook.

A Top Five Most Anticipated list, including an overall winner, will be announced on the first morning of E3 on Monday, June 6. This will be determined via a combination of how many poll votes each game receives, as well as the number of page views, Retweets and Facebook ‘Likes’ its individual preview attracts.

This really is an open race,” said site editor Tim Ingham. If we receive a rash of consumers votes for a game preview via Facebook, for instance, it really could throw up some interesting results.

The power to decide the victor really is in the hands of the readers – and, of course, each game’s individual community.”

CVG’s E3 2011 Awards will also honour a host of games at the show itself, in a suite of soon-to-be-announced categories.
