E3 2011: Ridge Racer drifting to PSVita

Namco has announced that a new Ridge Racer is currently under development for the PlayStation Vita.

Ridge Racer for PSVita is the newest instalment of the beloved arcade racing series, which has launched alongside every Sony console to date.

The new title is being co-developed by Namco Bandai Games Inc and Cellius in Japan.

Expect more high-speed drifting in high performance machines and new gameplay additions, enabled by the exceptional features of Sony’s upcoming handheld.

Hideo Teramoto of Cellius is directing the title, and his previous work includes Ridge Racer for PSP and Ridge Racer 7.

No release date has been given, but history would suggest that we could see the game arrive in time for the launch of the PSVita.

Sony’s PSVita is due to arrive later this year and will be available in two models.
