Eidos UK: Internal PR is alive and well

Eidos has promised the UK games media that it still has a working internal PR team, after reports suggested it had gutted its communications department.

Online reports posted today quote PR executives at the company suggesting that the recent decision to enlist Barrington Harvey as a third-party agency meant that internal Eidos communications would be greatly depleted going forward.

However, the company told MCV:

‘There is still internal PR at Eidos. Chris Glover is Group Communications Director for the company and the UK Marketing team have expanded their remit to include UK PR and the management of UK PR Agencies.

Barrington Harvey have been taken on board to assist in handling the specialist and consumer PR for many of the up and coming Eidos titles.”

In March, we reported that the company’s UK brand team was likely to be trimmed as part of company restructuring, ‘with some PR and marketing personnel remaining to ensure games campaigns suited individual territories’.
