Empire staff offered ‘wake’ by Mastertronic

Mastertronic has offered to throw former Empire staff a ‘wake’ – in response to a request from an ex-employee in today’s MCV magazine.

A venue is yet to be decided, but the non-formal event will take place next week on Thursday, May 21st.

One of the 49 employees made redundant by Empire – the majority of which went without pay for their final eight weeks at the company – wrote into MCV this week to ask the industry to organise a farewell bash.

"We will put a few quid behind the bar and meet in a boozer," Mastertronic boss Andy Payne told MCV today.
"There’s no specific time for kick off to make it fancy. Just show up and find me. I will buy ex-Empire staff all the drinks they can drink."

Any ex-Empire employees interested in attending should contact Andy Payne by clicking here.
