Euro PS3 movie service explained

Though the exact launch date and pricing remains a tightly guarded secret at SCEE, Sony has at least revealed a little bit of information about its PSN movie and TV rental service, which is due to go live in the UK next month.

Dubbed the PlayStation Network Video Delivery Service”, Sony’s new offering will be headlined with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Hannah Montana: The Movie, Angels & Demons, Casino Royale and The Hills Have Eyes.

Studios already signed up to the service include 20th Century Fox, Disney/ABC/ESPN, Lionsgate, MGM Studios, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Universal and Warner Bros.

A November launch is scheduled for the UK, France, Germany and Spain with other continental territories lined up for 2010.
