Bravely Default ships 1m copies worldwide

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy has shipped 1m units worldwide, Square Enix has announced.

Siliconera reports that the publisher recently confirmed its 3DS JRPG has shipped 400k in Japan, and another 600k across Australia, Europe, Korea and North America. The figure includes digital sales of the game as well.

Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda stated earlier this year that Bravely Default helped the firm’s Japanese division find its focus – demonstrating that fans of Japanese role-playing games exist internationally, and that there is still a global market for the genre.

Sequel Bravely Second is currently in development for 3DS, but thus far the game has only been confirmed for a Japan release.
