ESL’s annual trip to the east coast of the States has been a staple of the competitive Dota 2 scene for a few years now. Often serving as the first major LAN event of the new season, it has always offered up surprises, such as Vega Squadron coming out on top last year, with plenty of potential for more in a time when the whole Dota scene is trying to figure out a new meta and who the top teams are. When you add in the stellar ESL production and the iconic locations, it has often been one of the best third-party Dota events of the year.
