Former Crytek artist is crowdfunding a lawsuit

One of the workers left out of pocket by the recent troubles at developer Crytek has turned to GoFundMe to try and take the studio to court.

FX artist Ludvig Lindqvist claims to have not been paid by Crytek Frankfurt for two months, leading to his resignation last week.

Ever since May this year, salaries have been delayed,” Lindqvist said. Salary delay put strain on my personal economy which force me to seek legal action against Crytek. As a result of not getting paid, I will struggle with lawyer costs. Therefore I kindly ask for your support.”

He has vowed that if the total raised comes to more than his legal fees, the cash will go to supporting the legal efforts of other employees and to charities including Special Effect and Able Gamers.

Talk of fresh trouble at Crytek emerged following a post on Reddit earlier this week from what appeared to be a worried employee claiming they hadn’t been paid for six months. Other reports corroborated that indeed pay has either been late or missed entirely through most of 2016, with management telling staff just last week that efforts were being made to secure further investment and finance, some of which may come from asset sales.

Lindqvist’s campaign is off to a slow start so far, however. In the 15 hours the campaign has been live he has so far raised €30 of his €20,000 target.
