Gameloft closes Spanish studio, report claims

Mobile outlet Gameloft has shut down yet another studio as part of its on-going ‘cost reduction programme’.

Following the closure of its Seattle, New Zealand and New York offices – to name but three of the seven eliminated over the last year, alongside the loss of more than 850 jobs– this time it’s the turn of Gameloft’s presence in Valencia, Spain to suffer.

According to ‘a source close to the matter’ speaking toGamasutra, the shutdown means that up to 18 developers have been laid off – this number itself was the reduced outcome of job cuts at the studio in December.
