This year’s Games Media Awards take place at the revamped Bloomsbury Ballroom. The award categories have been overhauled, as has the judging and entry process. Over 250 people are expected to attend, with over 150 of them from national press, specialist outlets and further afield.

It’s just one of many changes to the event, now in its eighth year.

On Monday we unveiled the finalists in our ten categories – eight of which have been voted for by panels of games journalists and their peers in the games business, and two special awards which will be voted for by consumers and event attendees respectively.

There are over 60 different writers, media outlets (including podcast brands and video channels) vying for prizes.

Plus, comedian Holly Walsh is confirmed as host for the event.
