Golden Joysticks spearhead London Games Festival

The Golden Joysticks is set to become the jewel in the crown of this year’s London Games Festival as MCV can reveal that the Future-organised event is the official awards partner for 2008’s celebration of gaming culture.

Publisher Future is calling on the industry to make this year’s event the biggest ever after voting kicked off this week and the ‘longlist’ of categories was revealed.

As part of this new exclusive partnership, Future will promote LGF 2008 across its portfolio of gaming magazines and websites, with the Golden Joystick Awards receiving additional marketing and promotional assistance from festival organisers as the Joysticks aims to reach one million votes.

EA UK managing director and LGF chairman Keith Ramsdale said of the deal:

The Golden Joystick Awards have been a gaming calendar highlight for years. The London Games Festival team is delighted to enter into an exclusive relationship with Future, opening up a range of opportunities for both the Festival and the Joysticks.”
