JAPAN: PSP 3000 dated

Sony has confirmed that it will release PSP 3000 in Japan on October 16th at 19,800 Yen, the same price as the existing console,

according to Reuters.

Sony sold 3.72 million units of the PSP between April and June worldwide, while Nintendo’s DS sold 6.94 million units.

Despite DS’ huge lead over PSP in the handheld market, Sony’s portable console has outsold the DS in recent months in Japan, thanks to Capcom’s Monster Hunter Freedom 2G.
