London Comic Con host announces GamerMania show for July 2016

The company behind MCM London Comic Con is launching a completely new event dedicated to video games.

Hosted by MCM Central, GamerMania will take place in the ExCel London venue – the current home of Comic Con – between July 29th and 31st next year.

That means the event falls after E3 and SDCC, but before Gamescom.

Features already announced for the show include an ‘Indie Play Zone’ dedicated to smaller titles.

It seems there are also plans to host developer sessions and panels, as well as special events such as a cosplay show – much like its Comic Con counterpart.

There will be an eSports presence, courtesy of a partnership with pro-gaming organisation ESL, although further details are yet to be revealed.

Other points of interest for the event include major studios, LAN areas, PC and retro gaming, YouTubers and live streaming, a press release added.

Jeremy Rees, ExCeL London’s executive director, said that the event would fly the flag for the UK in the worldwide gaming industry”.
