It didn’t pass the finishing line quite as fast as Chart-Track had predicted, but at long last Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has cemented its position as the best selling game of all time in the UK.
It does so after 41 weeks on the market, of which just three were spent outside of the Top Ten and having broken numerous industry records along the way.
The achievement knocks former UK champion Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training from its throne.
That became the UK’s best selling game after 36 months on the High Street, overtaking PS2, Xbox and PC hit Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in the process.
