EVO 2017 dates and location announced

The biggest fighting game tournament of the year will once again return in 2017, taking place exclusively at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

EVO 2017 will take place between July 14th and 16th, with all three days of the competition being held at the Mandalay Bay. EVO 2016 only used the Events Center for the final day of top eight competition, with the first two days taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

No games have officially been announced for EVO 2017, but the reveal trailer, which can be seen below, showed off many EVO classics such as Smash Bros Melee, Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat X, so it would be a surprise if any of these were not included on the final list.

EVO has grown into the biggest event on the fighting game calendar for almost every major title out there. Massive player numbers, which in turn mean massive prize pools, attract the top players from across the globe, with some even competing in multiple titles. 2016 saw the finals of the Street Fighter V competition broadcast on ESPN2, as well as record viewership numbers on Twitch.
