FC Copenhagen to enter the world of eSports with CS:GO, Dota and FIFA

Danish football side FC Copenhagen are looking to enter into the world of eSports according to a report from Danish publication Finans.dk.

The report states that the team is looking to try and enter more than just FIFA, with them looking to pick up teams in CS:GO and Dota 2. This is a risky move from the team, however they appear to have already found success by supposedly signing the former Dignitas CS:GO roster

Obviously this kind of team doesn’t come cheap, but the Danes seem to be pumping in a lot of cash with the report stating they are putting up several hundred thousand dollars annually.

The club is yet to confirm reports, with Anders Hørsholt, director of F.C. Copenhagen parent company Parken Sport & Entertainment A/S saying:

"We are following the course of developments in esports as other major football clubs are. It is an exciting area, one F.C. Copenhagen want to be part of in the future. But if and when that happens, only time will tell."
