FIFA 14 for mobile goes free-to-play, features touch gameplay

EA Sports is set to completely overhaul its FIFA offerings for mobile devices.

First up, FIFA 14 will ditch the virtual controls in favour of touch and gesture controls. Secondly, this year’s game will be free-to-play, which could end up frustrating like Real Racing 3 or liberating like Plants vs Zombies 2.

FIFA 14 on mobile will feature 34 stadiums and 600 teams from over 30 leagues. The game is headed to iOS and Android devices this fall, with other platforms yet to be announced.
