For Honor’s closed beta arrives on January 26th

Ubisoft has revealed more details about For Honor’s upcoming closed beta. The beta will take place between January 26th and January 29th across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and players on all platforms will be able to experience the game’s 4v4 multiplayer action for the first time.

Players will have a choice of nine heroes during the closed beta, down from the final total of 12, with three characters appearing from each of the three factions. Three of five multiplayer modes will also be available to try, including the 4v4 Dominion mode, 2v2 Brawl and 1v1 Duel, across six different environments and three brand-new maps.

As Ubisoft has previously announced, the closed beta will also mark the introduction of the very first Faction War. This is a global, persistent and cross-platform event that tracks the performance of each faction during the beta. Whichever faction performs the best by the end of the beta will win the war, rewarding all participating faction members with special prizes.

For players who aren’t currently signed up for the closed beta, they’ll be able to earn themselves a code by visiting Ubisoft’s new interactive website, SCARS. Here, players will be able to find out more about the stories behind the For Honor warriors, and those who complete the experience will be rewarded with a closed beta access code.

The website features 12 exclusive videos detailing the factions and weaponry used in For Honor, and players will be able to view detailed in-game character models as they discover more about each faction. Players will also be invited to select and customise either a sword, axe or nodachi blade of their choosing, before being given the chance to then take that weapon into the game with them once they register their closed beta access code.

For Honor launches on February 14th for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and you can find out more about the game in our in-depth news hub.
