GAME hails week to remember

Retailer GAME is already preparing itself for what should be one of the biggest weeks in 2010.

On November 9th Activision will release Call of Duty: Black Ops, a shooter that has a very real chance of becoming the year’s best selling title. A day later Microsoft will launch its Xbox 360 motion camera Kinect.

We’ve been working hard on our plans for the launch of Kinect for several months now and it’s good to have a confirmed date so we can start showing customers how fantastic this piece of kit is,” trading director Adam Davis told MCV.

Overall, it is going to be a week in gaming to remember. First off, one of the most anticipated games of the year, Call of Duty: Black Ops is being launched and then the day after, the game-changing technology of Kinect will hit our stores.

The target audiences for these are very different and span the whole spectrum of gamers, which means there will be something for everyone. Of course, we will be offering a range of competitive trade-in deals on each which will lower the cost for those who need some extra help in the run-up to Christmas.”

Whether the launch of the 130 Kinect will have a detrimental effect on sales of the 130 Black Ops Prestige SKU remains to be seen.
