GamesAid announces Imran Yusuf as its first patron

Comedian Imran Yusuf has been named as GamesAid’s first patron.

Yusuf’s first outing as patron for the charity will be its Stand Up for GamesAid event at London’s Comedy Store on Monday April 14th.

He also hosted last year’s Stand Up for GamesAid event.

The comedian has a history in video games, working for a number of studios, including Eidos and Sega, bringing us the likes of Red Card Soccer and Yakuza.

He left game development in favour of comedy – in 2010 he was nominated for best newcomer at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and made his TV debut on Michael McIntryre’s Comedy Roadshow.

I think GamesAid can bring video games and comedy, two of my favourite things, together for a good cause and raise money for those who really need it,” said Yusuf.

Stuart Dinsey, GamesAid’s chairman added: This is a first for us at GamesAid.

Imran’s been extremely proactive in staying in touch with the UK games sector as his career has gone from strength to strength, and we’re hoping that his influence can encourage even more grass root support within the sector, and help us get the word out to more people.”
