Gamescom accreditation now open

The video games press can now register for this year’s Gamescom, Koelnmesse has confirmed.

Journalists just need to click here to apply.

All persons able to demonstrate their status as a full-time journaliss will be granted press accreditation, and as usual, the UK media are encourage to attend.

Due to the detailed checks required to verify the authenticity of journalistic status, organisers Koelnmesse encourage members of the press to apply for online accreditation well in advance.

Gamescom 2010 takes place in Cologne from August 18th to 22nd, starting with a trade-only day on Wednesday. Last year’s event attracted 458 exhibitors from over 30 countries – with 17,000 trade visitors and a quarter of a million game enthusiasts attending.

Exhibitors can register on the Gamescom website, while tickets are also available for trade visitors and consumers.
