Gamescom’s early bird program has already sold 70% of all tickets

Gamescom’s new early bird ticket program has got off to an excellent start this year, with 70 per cent of all tickets having been already sold. Likewise, many of the world’s biggest developers and publishers, hardware manufacturers, eSports companies and independent developers have already booked their space, ensuring Gamescom 2017 will continue to be one of the biggest and most diverse gaming shows around the world.

Exhibitors from at least 38 countries will be present at Cologne’s Koelnmesse from August 22nd to August 26th, showing a 12 per cent increase in the number of countries attending compared to this point in ticket sales last year. There will also be at least 13 national pavilions from China, Belgium, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Sweden, Peru, Singapore, Spain and Turkey.

In terms of developers and publishers, the following companies have already confirmed their attendance: Astragon Entertainment, Bandai Namco, Bigpoint, CD Projekt, Deep Silver (Koch Media), EA, Grey Box, Kalypso Media, Konami, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Wargaming and Warner Bros. Entertainment, with Bigpoint and Netmarble representing the mobile games category.

Hardware and accessories companies will be in attendance as well, including Alternate GmbH, expert Warenvertrieb GmbH, MIFCOM GmbH, and Roccat. Likewise, Turtle Entertainment and Webdia Gaming / ESWC will be hosting eSports tournaments.

There are plenty of new exhibitors this year as well, including CCP Games, MSI, Thunderobot and Cinkciarz.

Merchandise companies will also be at the show, with over 46 companies having already secured their stand spaces, including Game Legends, Konami, Otaku, Panini Verlags GmbH and Square Enix.

In 2016, Gamescom welcomed a total of 345,000 visitors from 97 countries, 30,500 of them trade visitors. 877 exhibitors from 54 countries were represented at the world’s biggest event for interactive entertainment.
