Gamestation to open 250th store

Specialist retail chain Gamestation has announced it will open its 250th store in Meadowhall, Sheffield on Friday November 28th.

The fastest growing games retailer will kick off proceedings on Thursday with an exclusive preview party, before the store opens to the public at 9am on Friday.

The first 50 customers through the door will be presented with a goodie bag, and will be joined by Mario and Sonic.

The firm is also planning a full launch weekend, with ‘spectacular’ promotions, the chance to win 100 of gift vouchers, and a ‘Blender’ contest run in conjunction with the local Hallam FM. In the contest people will be challenged to drink unusual cocktails including octopus, chilli and custard.

Meadowhall is the perfect location for our 250th store due to its huge footfall and catchment area,” said Gamestation MD Martyn Gibbs. This opening really is a landmark for us and proves that Gamestation continues to be the UK’s fastest growing games retailer – a success we plan to drive forward into 2009.”
