GameStop and Jolt launch Facebook game

GameStop and Jolt Online Gaming have launched Utopia Kingdoms, a new free-to-play Facebok game.

The title is based on the popular browser-based Utopia series and allows Facebook users to build and manage their own fantasy kingdom.

The launch is the latest move from US retail giant GameStop into the casual market. The company acquired Jolt in 2009, as well as casual games portal Kongregate back in July.

GameStop is a multi-channel retailer committed to video gaming,” said the firm’s international executive vice president Mike Mauler.

Jolt’s Utopia Kingdoms is a great example of how we provide our customers with online games they can play anytime, anywhere and on any device.”
