Gem kicks off recruitment drive

Gem has announced it is hiring new executives as it reorganises its business in preparation for a busy 2011.

The distributor plans to pull all of its divisions closer together by hiring dedicated vendor managers to work with newly-hired marketing executives, focusing operations into either business or leisure.

Available positions include Marketing Executive (Leisure), Marketing Executive (Business), Marketing Assistant, Vendor Manager (Leisure) and Vendor Manager (Business).

We have some very exciting plans for growth, which will come to fruition over the next 12 months,” said Gem’s UK general manager Darren Houghton.

We will be continuing to work strategically with a number of key partners on developing plans that fully utilise our strength in logistics, category management, vendor representation and European fulfilment.

In light of the current economic challenges, we are very fortunate to be able to invest in expanding our teams now to deliver on our longer term objectives.”

Anyone interested in the marketing positions should contact Gem’s head of marketing Katie Rawlings at katier@gem.co.uk, while vendor manager applicants should contact head of purchasing Tracey Tennison at traceyte@gem.co.uk.
