Gian Luzio leaves Play.com

Play.com’s head of games Gian Luzio has left the online giant, MCV has learnt.

Luzio had been employed at Play for seven years, and picked up three MCV Awards for best online retailer in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The Play.com games team claimed Golden Joystick awards for best retailer in 2005 and 2008, securing significant market share in the process.

Luzio was also instrumental in the creation of last year’s Play.com Live event, and was a long-serving member of MCV’s Retail Advisory Board. Prior to joining Play, Luzio
was employed at Midas as UK sales manager.

MCV understands that Luzio is set to join another leading entertainment retail outfit after leaving his post.
