Gree: iOS games 400% more lucrative than a year ago

Apple’s iOS development platform has seen revenues increase four-fold over the past 12 months, Japanese gaming content and platform provider GREE has said.

The company’s senior vice president of studio operations Anil Dharni claimed that the growing use of the iPad as a gaming device was wone of the key factors behind the increase in revenues.

Speaking to TechCrunch, Dharni said of the iOS development platform: It’s 4x and beyond in terms of revenue [compared to a year ago]."

He also added that, while Google’s Android still has someway to go before catching up with iOS in terms of per user monetisation, he does expect its growth to increase throughout 2013. We feel that Android is going to grow faster this year," he commented.
