GTA V is the fastest selling game in UK history

Grand Theft Auto V has beaten Call of Duty: Black Ops to become the UK’s biggest ever video game launch.

GfK Chart Track data reveals GTA V sold 1.57m units during its first day on sale, generating over 65m in revenue.

It breaks the previous record set by Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, which sold 1.41m units for 58m back in November 2010.

GTA V launched Tuesday and saw consumers crowd outside 2,000 UK High Street retailers at midnight to get their hands on the highly anticipated title.
