Halo franchise surpasses 65m sales

Halo has sold more than 65m units as a franchise, Microsoft has announced.

Gamasutra reports the published revealed the figure as part of a panel description at San Diego Comic-Con that featured Halo Mega Blok construction toys.

Microsoft stated the series had sold over 60m copies ahead of Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s launch last November.

Despite a troubled release, the majority of the 5m sales since that point are likely for Master Chief Collection – though current franchise developer 343 Industries released Halo: Spartan Assault on iOS and Windows Phone during that stretch as well.
