Harmonix partners with Fig to crowdfund mystery title

Fig has announced a new partnership with Harmonix, with the developer planning to bring an unannounced title to the crowdfunding platform later this year.

Harmonix CCO Alex Rigopulos will join the company’s advisory board as part of the deal – currently run by former Double Fine COO and Fig founder Justin Bailey, along with Double Fine’s Tim Schafer, Obsidan’s Feargus Urquhart and Inxile’s Brian Fargo.

According to Rigopulos, Harmonix chose Fig over other crowdfunding options because the studio wanted to "offer rewards as well as investment opportunities.”

Fig launched last month with its first campaign for IGF winner Outer Wilds. The game has currently raised over $106,000 of its $125,000 goal with still two weeks remaining in the funding run.
