Head closes down

Entertainment retail chain Head is closing its four stores less than a year after being on the UK High Street.

The business was set up by Simon Douglas – former CEO of defunct retailer Zavvi and MD of Virgin Megastores.

According to Retail Week, both Leeds and Dundee stores are conducting Closing Down Sales, with staff in the Leeds store saying that Head’s other shops in Bristol and Birmingham are also closing.

Head shut stores in Liverpool and Sheffield this year – which began whispers of a UK-wide closure.

Douglas formed Head along with Les Whitfield – chief of entertainment retailer Impulse – after the collapse of Zavvi in December last year.
