Homefront struts its stuff for THQ

The long-awaited victory of Homefront in the UK charts this week will be being wildly celebrated at publish THQ this morning.

It’s the first UK chart topper for the company since way back in May 2009 when fighter UFC 2009: Undisputed debuted in top place.

It’s also a triumph of marketing for the firm. UKIE Chart-Track numbers show that in just one week the game has already sold around 82 per cent of the lifetime total sales of Kaos Studios’ spiritual predecessor Frontlines: Fuels of War, which was released in early 2008.

In addition, Eurogamer’s Johnny Minkley has said on Twitter that the game enjoyed the biggest home console launch of 2011, besting the likes of Dead Space 2, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Dragon Age II and Killzone 3.
