How NOT to cash in on GAME’s struggles

The future of games on the High Street in in danger and thousands of workers face an uncertain future… so let’s all cash in, right?

That’s clearly the attitude of dating website dateagamer.co.uk, which has seized upon GAME’s misfortunes to try and promote its own business.

The company has allegedly contacted GAME with a unique partnership offer that could turn the business’s fortunes around – by doubling-up stores as dating venues”.

The move could net millions in shared revenue for GAME”, the press release reads.

What the company is proposing – if this shameless publicity grab can even be classed as a proposal – is the establishment of ‘dating zones’ within GAME stores, with twice daily dating sessions in each shop where single gamers could mingle and hook up”.

The sessions would of course be free to members of the dating site.

Its founder Tom Thurlow said that we are always looking for innovative new ways to reach out to single gamers”. And innovative ways to capitalise on bad news, it seems.

Apparently Thurlow is still awaiting a response from GAME, though amazingly he remains optimistic about a partnership”.

To me it’s a no-brainer,” he added. At last, Tom, something we agree about.
