IGN launches Xbox Live App

Video games media site IGN Entertainment has launched its IGN application today on Xbox Live.

The application will give Xbox Live gold subscribers access to the site’s video content direct from their console.

The app will stream gaming-related content including previews, guides, live streams, presentations, industry events and more. IGN’s catalogue of shows, including The Daily Fix and Rewind Theatre, will always be available to stream via the app.

IGN’s international publishing director Rich Keen said: Gamers across Europe have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the IGN app on Xbox Live and we’re excited to offer them the very best of our global video content with a local flavour.

IGN’s mission is to reach gamers wherever they are, across all platforms, services and devices.”
Rohan Oommen, general manager at Xbox Live EMEA added: We’re seeing usage of video, TV and film apps on Xbox Live increase 140 per cent year-on-year.

As one of several new European apps set to debut across the region, we welcome IGN to our service as Xbox Live continues to cater to all its users’ information and entertainment needs.”

Users can download the IGN app now via the console’s app marketplace.
