Amazon Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced Batman: Caped Crusader — Chronicles, a brand-new interactive experience developed in collaboration with Blazing Griffin, the Glasgow-based independent studio behind detective and mystery games Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot and Maurice Leblanc’s Arsène Lupin. The game launches exclusively on Amazon Luna — Amazon’s cloud gaming service — as part of its GameNight collection on 31st July 2026, the same day Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader premieres globally on Prime Video.
The project is the first time a Scottish studio has developed an original title for Amazon Luna’s GameNight platform. The launch marks a new kind of storytelling partnership — one that extends the Batman: Caped Crusader IP beyond the animated series and into an interactive experience, letting fans step inside Gotham City on the same night the new season drops.
As a studio whose work spans Games, Film, and Post Production for film and TV, Blazing Griffin was uniquely placed to bring this transmedia vision to life. The project is uniquely placed in that from 23rd July 2026, Prime members with a Fire TV in the US and UK can play Luna games directly inside the Prime Video app, alongside the shows, movies and sports they already watch. For the first time, a single platform brings film, TV and games together in one place and Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles has launched right into that moment as a game you can jump into the instant you finish watching the show as a true transmedia experience.
The project also marks a significant milestone for Scottish games development — and one that reflects years of investment in the sector. Support from Scottish Enterprise, including investment in our Games Toolkit, has been instrumental in building the foundation that enabled Blazing Griffin to take on a collaboration of this scale. As Scottish creative industries continue to grow their international footprint, Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles stands as a demonstration of what Scottish studios can deliver when backed by the right support — world-class IP, a global platform, and a team built and nurtured in Glasgow.
Working closely with Amazon Games, the team at Blazing Griffin crafted an original game narrative rooted in the world of Batman: Caped Crusader, developing an art style that honours the series’ celebrated film-noir visual identity while bringing something genuinely new to it. The result is a multiplayer experience built for connection, designed to bring friends and families together in their own living rooms, with the phone already in their pocket as their only controller.
Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles represents Blazing Griffin’s first title on Amazon Luna and its largest collaboration with a major streaming platform partner to date. The collaboration with Amazon Games is a significant export success for Scottish games development, with a Glasgow-based studio delivering an original title for one of the world’s largest technology and entertainment platforms, reaching Prime members across 14 countries.
The title joins Amazon Luna’s growing library of games including Courtroom Chaos, Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite, the critically acclaimed Dispatch, and EA Sports FC 26. Batman: Caped Crusader — Chronicles is an original GameNight experience built specifically to extend this iconic IP beyond the screen — launching on the same night a new season of the series drops on Prime Video, bringing together Amazon’s gaming and streaming platforms in a way that feels fresh.
Justin Alae-Carew, Co-Head of Games at Blazing Griffin, said:
“Batman is one of the biggest, most recognisable IPs in the world, and Amazon is one of the largest platforms on the planet with Prime reaching hundreds of millions of subscribers globally. To have Blazing Griffin, our Glasgow-based studio, trusted to develop an original title that sits at the intersection of both is genuinely monumental for us and for Scottish games development. The fact that the game is accessible to every Prime member from day one with no console, no downloads, just a phone, means the reach is unlike anything we’ve delivered before. It shows what Scottish creative studios are capable of on the global stage.”
Neil McPhillips, Co-Head of Games at Blazing Griffin, said:
“Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles has been one of the most creatively ambitious projects we’ve taken on at Blazing Griffin. Working alongside Amazon Game Studios, Warner Bros. and DC Studios to build something that extends the Batman: Caped Crusader animated universe has been a privilege. Every creative decision was made with the series’ celebrated film-noir visual identity front of mind, honouring what makes this world so distinctive while bringing something genuinely new to it. We’re incredibly proud of what the team has delivered.”
Batman: Caped Crusader is available from Friday 31st July 2026 for all Amazon Prime members and Luna Premium subscribers across the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
