Insomniac is done with Resistance series

Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac has said that it’s work on the PS3’s Resistance series is over.

We won’t be making any more Resistances,” Insomniac CEO Ted Price told VG247.

That’s not to say, of course, that the series won’t live on. But if it does, Insomniac won’t be involved. The third game in the series was released late last year and is critically regarded as the best instalment to date.

As well as co-op focused shooter Overdrive, Insomniac will also be devoting time to its new social games division Insomniac Click.

Certainly over the next couple years, we’re going to see a huge evolution in visuals in social games,” Price added.

It’s thanks to improving technologies. It’s thanks to browsers that are getting better and more powerful. It’s thanks to development teams – core traditional game teams who are moving into the space.”
