Is iOS5 update worsening iPhone battery life?

Apple today released a patch for its iOS 5 that is deigned to address complaints about battery life – but users are complaining that it has made situation worse.

iOS 5.0.1 was released specifically to improve the battery life of iPhones following widespread complaints that the new iPhone 4S has a worse battery performance than its advertising suggested.

But now a number of users have taken to Apple’s forums to claim that the situation has worsened following the installation of the update.

Worse still, iPhone 4S owners who claimed that they weren’t experiencing problems before are now experiencing a rapid decline in battery performance from their handsets.
