Ten years ago, I had a single, focused dream: get esports on mainstream TV. It was a goal shared by most of the people involved in esports at the time, leagues, talent, players, and team owners alike. Not hard to imagine really, as all of us would benefit financially and otherwise. But it wasn’t just the money driving this ambition, it was a sense of acceptance that drove us. We were desperate for the industry we were building, competitive gaming, to be recognized much like any other sport, shown on TV to the masses and have the money coming in to support the roles and jobs within it.
