ITV games show The Cube coming to consoles

A video game based on hugely popular game show The Cube will be released on consoles later this year.

The title will be published by Koch’s Europress division as part of a partnership with series producers Objective Productions, distributors All3Media International and Route 1.

Currently in its third series on ITV1, The Cube is hosted by Phillip Schofield and sees contestants taking on a series of challenges that become increasingly difficult as they attempt to win 250,000.

The Cube video game will recreate many of the show’s most familiar events, including The Cylinder, Multisphere and StopZone.

Each will replicate the programme’s tense atmosphere, where one mistake can leave competitors with nothing. The game will also feature a multiplayer mode.

Europress is delighted to partner with All3Media International and Route 1 on such a phenomenal brand, which has enthralled people across the globe,” said Europress MD Craig McNicol.

We are working hard to create a console experience that is a true adaptation of the TV show, and will bring the nail-biting tension and atmosphere to homes everywhere.”

All3Media’s head of interactive media and licensing Selma Turajlic added: We are delighted
to see The Cube being launched on home consoles.

The Cube is a TV format that naturally extends to console play; the exciting capabilities of the platforms will maximise The Cube’s stunning visual and gameplay aspect.”

The Cube is due on shelves in Q4. Specific platforms have yet to be confirmed, with the game currently slated for release on ‘home consoles’.
