James Lampkin: ‘Because of the way we built WESA, it doesn’t allow for ESL to stomp around’

It was one of the better kept secrets in esports—an industry notorious for its leaks. Until May 10, no-one had publicly uttered the acronym WESA—quite a feat given the number of parties involved. Then, a well-meaning employee of a commercial printing firm took to Reddit to share the results of his latest project.

Posted from a now-deleted account called craigmc28, the post presumably was meant to show the coincidence that his company had been contracted to create the screen backgrounds you see during sports interviews for an ESL event. What the person didn’t know: they’d accidentally leaked a project that had been a long time in the making, just days before its scheduled reveal.
