Johhny Rotten has spent £10k on iPad apps in two years

It turns out that Sex Pistols star John ‘Rotten’ Lydon is quite the gamer.

Despite telling The Telegraph that he and his wife are normally really careful” with money there is one hobby on which Lydon is happy to splash the cash – gaming.

I wasted – you’re the first to know this – 10,000 in the last two years on apps on my iPad,” he revealed. I got into Game of Thrones, Game of War, Real Racing, and I just wanted to up the ante. And like an idiot I didn’t check myself. I’ve been checked now.

But there’s a kid in me, see? A bit of my childhood was taken from me and I’m determined to bring it back.”

Elsewhere in the interview Lydon also namechecks a console brand.

None of it’s made what I’d call huge amounts of money but it’s enough for me to do what I want,” he said of years of royalty payments. I’m not a bloke who wants a Ferrari in the garage. If I want to drive a Ferrari I’ve got PlayStation.”

Johnny Rotten joins the likes of Andy Murray, Fernando Torres, Paul Gascoigne and even current Tory Prime Minister David Cameron in harbouring a lively video games habit.
