John Lewis expects Xbox One sales to outsell PS4

Department store giant John Lewis has predicted a next-gen win for Xbox One.

We are expecting more interest in the Xbox One,” head technology buyer at John Lewis Jonathan Marsh told TrustedReviews.

We are stocking both the PS4 and the Xbox One but if we were to back one, we are thinking that Xbox One will appeal a bit more to our customers in terms of the experience it creates.

The software that the Xbox One launches with will really appeal to our customer base based on what we’ve experienced in the past. If we had to edge one I would favour the Xbox One.”

Although John Lewis is not the only retailer to report greater interest in Microsoft’s machine – MCV has certainly been told the same by others – it’s fair to say that the majority of retailers are currently experiencing more demand for Sony’s console.

However, Xbox One has certainly experienced a strong recovery after its difficult summer and there’s no way to know which device will enjoy the stronger launch next month.

Stock levels will likely prove the deciding factor.
