Kane & Lynch gets early release

Publisher Square Enix has announced that it has brought forward the release date of Xbox 360, PS3 and PC action title Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days in both Europe and North America.

The game will now hit UK and European retail on August 20th and will arrive in the US a few days earlier on August 17th.

In doing so the game now avoids clashing with 2K Games’ violent action release Mafia 2. And Ubisoft’s Imagine Dream Resort, though the latter probably played less into Square Enix’s thinking.

The team has worked hard to deliver a game that’s different from the current trend of third-person shooters and we’re so pleased to be able to share it with the world ahead of schedule,” IO Interactive general manager said Niels Jrgensen stated.

With development now complete, why keep people waiting any longer? We want to let gamers experience the game we’ve created and get them online betraying their friends in Fragile Alliance, so we have decided to bring the release date forward by one week.”
