Kickstarter campaigns opening up to Canada later this summer

Kickstarter will open up its doors to Canada-based companies beginning later this summer.

The crowdfunding site announced the news yesterday on its official site – revealing that the Canada-specific portion of the site will go live in the coming months, and opening up sign-ups for updates on the matter as it progresses.

Kickstarter opened its doors to the UK last October, and within its first month saw over 2 million pledged to UK-based campaigns.

The relatively new financial source has helped studios fund big projects without the assistance of publishers, including multiple projects by Double Fine and Obsidian.
