Konami sees double-digit growth

Konami has announced that group operating income for the nine months leading to December has leapt 20.4 per cent over the previous year.

Total sales rose 8.1 per cent in the first fiscal three quarters to 229,730 million Yen, whereas operating income was up to 32,154 million yen. The company also revealed that net income was up 22.8 per cent to 17,910 million Yen.

Konami’s digital arm led earnings, rising nine per cent year-over-year to 141,140 million Yen.

The publisher cited Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, Jikkyou Pawafuru Major League 2, and Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu 14 as big sellers in Japan and Europe. The Dance Dance Revolution franchise also continues to do well in North America.
