Konami turns to Facebook for PES 2012

Publisher Konami is using social networks to win back PES fans.

The firm enjoyed a positive” Gamescom for its flagship football franchise, which has suffered in the face of a resurgent FIFA in recent years.

Konami is ramping up its PR and marketing investment in social networks, and plans to launch a new innovative Facebook app, MyPES.

MyPES lets users connect their PC, 360 or PS3 version of Pro Evo 2012 to Facebook, where gamers can win bonuses, upload results and set up leagues and groups. The app will be available when Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 launches on October 14th.

This year the quality of Pro Evo is very good,” European president Kunio Neo told MCV. Social models are now very important for us, particularly for marketing and PR purposes. That is the key difference from last year.”
