League of Legends appears on Coca-Cola

One of the world’s biggest games properties has tied up a deal with the world’s biggest soft drink.

Riot Games president and co-founder Marc Merrill tweeted a pair of pictures (which can be seen below) of LoL characters emblazoned on both Coca-Cola bottles and cans.

It’s not yet known if the tie-up could expand into other territories, but considering the colossal popularity of the game in Korea, it’s perhaps not likely.

That’s not to say that LoL doesn’t have sizable international appeal, of course – the upcoming League of Legends World Championship will carry a whopping $2m prize pool.
