Legends of Gaming event cut from three days to one

A new London games event that plays host to YouTube legends” has been cut from three days to one.

Created be Endemol and Gadget Show Live organisers Upper Street Events, Legends of Gaming Live is to see YouTube personalities battle it out. There will also be upcoming games on show, areas dedicated to Retro and Indie games, plus the chance to meet and compete against YouTube stars.

The show has even attracted some big sponsors, including headline partner GAME.

It was due to take place at Alexandra Palance between September 4th to September 6th. But MCV understands that ticket sales are well behind targets, and so the organisers have condensed Legends of Gaming Live from a three-day event to a one-day show. It will also increase its focus on the YouTube stars it has at the show.

Legends of Gaming Live will now just take place on Saturday, September 5th. Upper Street Events are no-longer involved with the project and it is entirely run by Endemol.

In a statement sent to MCV, Endemol said: "It has become clear that Saturday is by far the most popular day for this event, therefore the decision has been taken to make ‘Legends of Gaming Live’ a one day celebration of the YouTube gaming community.

"Feedback from the community clearly pointed to the YouTubers being the most popular attraction, therefore the festival will include live stage shows, tournament areas, meet and greets with top gaming stars, YouTuber hosted zones and a raft of showcase areas for the public to interact with."
